About This Art
Diamojism is an original art form in which iconic works from art history are reconstructed entirely from emoji—thousands of individually selected diamond-shaped tiles, chosen for color, edge and form.
One of the most recognized images ever made, reconstructed from the symbols of contemporary digital communication. The selection was configured to favor emoji whose meaning relates to the subject—marine vocabulary, atmospheric symbols, the visual language of Japanese woodblock printing—but color and structure take precedence. Meaning survives where it can.
The wave survives the translation.
