Diamojism is an original art form in which iconic works from art history are reconstructed entirely from emoji—thousands of individually selected diamond-shaped tiles, chosen for color, edge and form.

Botticelli painted a goddess emerging from the sea. The same figure emerges here from a field of contemporary symbols, resolving into likeness as you step back, dissolving into the present moment as you move closer. The mosaic was mapped with care—each of the four figures attended to separately, from face to limbs, so the finest tiles fell where they matter most.

Venus emerged from the sea five centuries ago. She emerges again today.
