Diamojis in the Wild

This post is a living gallery — I'll keep adding examples here as new work comes out of the studio. Bookmark it if you want to watch the artform grow.

Each piece below shows a different subject, style, or configuration. All of them share the same foundation: thousands of tiny emojis, placed by an algorithm I designed, resolving into something you recognize only when you step back.

You can zoom into each of these diamoji to get a feel for what they are like in real life. Seeing them first hand is the best way to experience them. These images are a lower resolution than when they are printed, so there will be some blurring at higher zoom levels.
Emoji Lisa
The piece that started everything publicly. The Emoji Lisa uses 6873 tiles and 762 unique emoji in various sizes and rotations. It's a portrait of a portrait — which felt right.
Cat Portrait
Pet portraits have a unique challenge with the soft edges. This diamoji has 6526 tiles, 1088 unique emoji and took 9.5 minutes to render
Artist Headshot
This is a photo portrait example. This diamoji has 8059 tiles, 1067 unique emoji and took 8.4 minutes to render.
Artist Headshot
The hardest project yet. It took 53 iterations over 9 days resulting in 15,525 tiles and several new software features and tools.
